Kaylee's Worlds!

Kaylee's Worlds!

I have some brown dwarfs, Luhman 16 AB, (link here) which are similiar in mass, about 30 times that of Jupiter. The worlds, which I can't really call planets *or* moons without feeling incrediby conflicted, all rapidly orbit in hours, not days. They lie beyond the roche limit, where tidal forces would tear them apart. These are all placeholder names; the two brown dwarfs and seven worlds would be renamed by the future colonists, I'm sure! In a nod to Firefly I decided to change K.L. for Kevin Luhman to Kaylee. The largest world is named for Luhman, of course.

I didn't get an animation for this done, yet...

Luhman 16 A, Kevin?

Kaylee orbits @ 983702.56 km, in ~4.507 hours and the primary is 10.48 degrees (where the Moon is about 1/2 degree) with an insolation of 0.51 or a mean surface temperature of roughly -15.4 Celsius, with a reasonable greenhouse effect. Mass of 1.16 Earths.

Vek orbits @ 1191758.91 km, in ~6.01 hours and the primary is 8.65 degrees (where the Moon is about 1/2 degree) with an insolation of 0.35 or a mean surface temperature of roughly -59.4 Celsius, with a reasonable greenhouse effect. Mass of 0.43 Earths.

Diesel orbits @ 1561645.96 km, in ~9.015 hours and the primary is 6.6 degrees (where the Moon is about 1/2 degree) with an insolation of 0.2 or a mean surface temperature of roughly -87.6 Celsius, with a reasonable greenhouse effect. Mass of 0.33 Earths.

Luhman orbits @ 1891799.36 km, in ~12.02 hours and the primary is 5.45 degrees (where the Moon is about 1/2 degree) with an insolation of 0.13 or a mean surface temperature of roughly -63.4 Celsius, with a reasonable greenhouse effect. Mass of 1.47 Earths.

Mel orbits @ 2136301.63 km, in ~14.424 hours and the primary is 4.82 degrees (where the Moon is about 1/2 degree) with an insolation of 0.1 or a mean surface temperature of roughly -113.7 Celsius, with a reasonable greenhouse effect. Mass of 0.37 Earths.

Luhman 16 B, Eric E. Mamajek (who renamed the bd for K)?

Eema orbits @ 1055329.56 km, in ~5.873 hours and the primary is 9.76 degrees (where the Moon is about 1/2 degree) with an insolation of 0.42 or a mean surface temperature of roughly -50.4 Celsius, with a reasonable greenhouse effect. Mass of 0.31 Earths.

Majek orbits @ 1443588.59 km, in ~9.396 hours and the primary is 7.14 degrees (where the Moon is about 1/2 degree) with an insolation of 0.22 or a mean surface temperature of roughly -81.8 Celsius, with a reasonable greenhouse effect. Mass of 0.38 Earths.
