The Bigbees' Child and my ending for BWT

The Bigbees' Child goes click-clack, click-clack,
And the empty, empty, room answers her back,
'There is no one, no one here, no one to hear!'
The vast emptiness and the lonely, lonely, fear,
Opens out, forever and ever, and ever more...
To a little boy, a son of Earth, there by the door,
Who snaps his fingers to the click-clack song,
Which that other child has sung so very long.
The sing-song, sing-song of 'Hear me, oh hear!'
'I am here, I am here, please hear me, I am here!"

I think I have my ending-

"Papa, tell me a story."
Louis Armstrong Wednesday the Elder looked over at Barbara and grinned. "Aren't you just an itty bit old for me to be telling you stories?"
"Fair enough; shall I tell you one?"
Louis glanced at where she and that relic of ancient times held hands and smiled some more. The dance went on and on, with new pairs taking over when the old ones sat it out... "Why don't you go ahead and do that, Princess."
"This one began a long time ago, on Old Earth, just after the new millennium, and it's still unfolding, to this day..."
"Is it, now," her father breathed, feeling the magic. "Why don't you start at the beginning and keep on going until a good ending comes to you, because-" and they said it together-
"You never do know where a good story will take you, do you?"
