Thinking about arc-crawl exploration again. The arc of exploration based on what the observer can see from where they are, so we start out with an initial triangle fan 360 degrees around, then go to a point and do another triangle fan of the newly observed territory. This would be about six miles or ten kilometers, the area of which is over a hundred square miles or over three hundred square kilometers and would be different for each world but similar for earth-like worlds which should not be too much bigger or smaller.
