If we get to the sea along that river out of the steppe we get 'New Orleans', but perhaps this is something like the Gulf of Mexico, the Med and Aegean, the Black Sea, the Persian Gulf, or the South China Sea. Crimea, for example, is located at the mouth of a river which flows through as steppe and is like Havana or more like the Jersey Shore.
