Today's prompt was 'roots'.

I haven't gotten a world23 Saturday rumor yet. This week's rumor has something to do with the roots of the village of the valley of the lake, the extinct volcano? It is a rumor, so the volcano isn't extinct after all, or it really is? 

I was listening to Baron De Rop... Three pillars of world building- Routes (rivers and roads, etc.), not roots, Resources (value added vs. utility), and Relationships (religion, culture, ideology, fears and dreams). Winners and losers. Each faction has two or three major strategic imperatives.
